Introducido en julio de 2016, el impuesto es pagado por todos los turistas mayores de 16 a\u00f1os y actualmente oscila entre 0,50\u20ac y 2,50\u20ac por d\u00eda, en verano, dependiendo de la categor\u00eda del alojamiento. La subida del impuesto para el pr\u00f3ximo a\u00f1o ha sido bien recibida por algunas partes, entre ellas los sindicatos y los ecologistas. El consejero de Turismo, Biel Barcel\u00f3, ha insistido en la \"aceptaci\u00f3n social\" de la tasa, cuyo objetivo es promover el turismo sostenible.<\/p>\n<p>Gran parte del sector empresarial, sin embargo, ha condenado la medida y los operadores tur\u00edsticos est\u00e1n en contra de la subida de impuestos, con el director general de Thomas Cook Tour Operators, Peter Fankhauser, afirmando que el segmento del turismo familiar podr\u00eda considerar la b\u00fasqueda de alternativas a las Baleares debido al gasto extra. El Gobierno insiste en que el gasto de los turistas no se ha visto afectado por la introducci\u00f3n de la tasa tur\u00edstica, pero los propietarios de peque\u00f1os negocios no est\u00e1n de acuerdo, mientras que los supermercados y los grandes minoristas han informado de un aumento de los beneficios, debido, en gran parte, a los alquileres vacacionales privados.<\/p>\n<p>Hay que tener en cuenta que cualquier reducci\u00f3n prevista en las reservas hoteleras durante septiembre se ver\u00e1 contrarrestada por el aumento de los precios. Los ingresos procedentes de la tasa tur\u00edstica se destinan a mejorar las infraestructuras de las islas, lo que, a su vez, las har\u00e1 m\u00e1s atractivas para el mercado del alquiler. Proyectos como la tan esperada finalizaci\u00f3n del paseo mar\u00edtimo de la bah\u00eda de San Antonio, en Ibiza, han supuesto una inyecci\u00f3n de dinero que mejorar\u00e1 el valor de las propiedades en el futuro.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Reacci\u00f3n a la nueva legislaci\u00f3n sobre alquileres<\/span><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Las modificaciones de la legislaci\u00f3n sobre alquileres privados, introducidas en julio de este a\u00f1o, han provocado fuertes reacciones de las partes afectadas.
