La libra esterlina cay\u00f3 por debajo de 1,10\u20ac.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp; <\/span>pero se recuper\u00f3 r\u00e1pidamente cuando el Parlamento respald\u00f3 un proyecto de ley para posponer el plazo una vez m\u00e1s y rechaz\u00f3 la convocatoria de elecciones generales del Primer Ministro.\n\nEste tercer aplazamiento fue visto por los mercados como un movimiento positivo para la libra y provoc\u00f3 nuevas ganancias para la GBP frente al EURO. En este sentido, pues, el sector inmobiliario espa\u00f1ol seguir\u00eda siendo un mercado libre para los ciudadanos brit\u00e1nicos que deseen invertir. Desde el punto de vista financiero, la fortaleza de la libra siempre ha tenido una correlaci\u00f3n directa con la compra de propiedades y, aunque sigue habiendo una fuerte demanda entre los brit\u00e1nicos de propiedades en Espa\u00f1a, un tipo de cambio desfavorable afectar\u00eda, sin duda, al presupuesto de los compradores del Reino Unido.\n\nTambi\u00e9n est\u00e1 la cuesti\u00f3n de los impuestos de sucesiones. Antes de 2014, los no residentes tributaban mucho m\u00e1s que los residentes cuando heredaban una propiedad en Espa\u00f1a, pero la ley se modific\u00f3 tras la presi\u00f3n de la Comisi\u00f3n Europea y se dictamin\u00f3 que, a partir de enero de 2015, los no residentes del EEE, no pod\u00edan tributar de forma diferente en las transacciones de herencia. En febrero de 2018, el Tribunal Supremo espa\u00f1ol dict\u00f3 otra sentencia en la que declaraba que el funcionamiento del impuesto de sucesiones y donaciones espa\u00f1ol vulneraba la libre circulaci\u00f3n de capitales al gravar a los no residentes en la UE con un tipo m\u00e1s elevado por los bienes espa\u00f1oles recibidos a trav\u00e9s de una herencia o donaci\u00f3n.\n\nEsta es una buena noticia para los inversores inmobiliarios brit\u00e1nicos, ya que significa que, cuando y como sea que se produzca el Brexit, no habr\u00e1 discriminaci\u00f3n contra los ciudadanos no europeos que paguen el impuesto de sucesiones o donaciones.
