Het pond Sterling daalde tot onder \u20ac 1,10<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp; <\/span>maar herstelde zich snel toen het parlement een wetsvoorstel steunde om de deadline nogmaals uit te stellen en de oproep van de premier voor algemene verkiezingen verwierp.\n\nDit derde uitstel werd door de markten gezien als een positieve stap voor het Britse pond en zorgde voor nieuwe stijgingen van het Britse pond ten opzichte van de euro. Deze winsten bleken echter van korte duur, want het Britse pond kelderde opnieuw nadat de koningin het verzoek van de premier aanvaardde om het parlement op te schorten, een beslissing die controversieel bleek en beschuldigingen uitlokte dat Boris Johnson oneerlijk had gehandeld. Ja, er heerst nog steeds onrust in de Britse politiek.\n\nDe belangrijke vragen voor Britse investeerders in Spaans onroerend goed zijn echter: Hoe zou een no-deal Brexit het proces van het kopen van een huis in Spanje veranderen? Wat zijn de financi\u00eble gevolgen?\n\nOp dit moment gelden er geen beperkingen voor de aankoop van onroerend goed in Spanje en er zijn ook geen vereisten om de nationaliteit van een EU-land te hebben. In dit opzicht zou Spaans onroerend goed dus een vrije markt blijven voor Britse burgers die willen investeren. Financieel gezien heeft de sterkte van het pond altijd een directe correlatie gehad met de aankoop van onroerend goed en, hoewel er onder de Britten nog steeds een sterke vraag is naar onroerend goed in Spanje, zou een ongunstige wisselkoers ongetwijfeld gevolgen hebben voor het budget van Britse kopers.\n\nEr is ook de kwestie van successierechten. V\u00f3\u00f3r 2014 werden niet-ingezetenen veel zwaarder belast dan ingezetenen bij het erven van onroerend goed in Spanje, maar de wet werd gewijzigd na druk van de Europese Commissie en er werd bepaald dat niet-ingezetenen van binnen de EER vanaf januari 2015 niet meer verschillend konden worden belast op erftransacties. In februari 2018 deed het Spaanse Hooggerechtshof nog een uitspraak waarin het verklaarde dat de manier waarop de Spaanse successie- en schenkingsrechten werkten, in strijd was met het vrije verkeer van kapitaal door niet-EU-ingezetenen tegen een hoger tarief te belasten over Spaanse bezittingen die zij via een erfenis of schenking ontvingen.\n\nDit is goed nieuws voor Britse vastgoedbeleggers, want het betekent dat wanneer en hoe Brexit ook plaatsvindt, er geen discriminatie zal zijn van niet-Europese burgers die successie- of schenkingsrecht betalen. Op dit moment heerst er nog steeds onzekerheid over de kwestie en is de toekomst moeilijk te voorspellen, maar dit heeft het enthousiasme van de Britten om van de Spaanse levensstijl te genieten niet verminderd.\n\nDe Britse expatpopulatie in Spanje blijft veruit de grootste nationale groep, en hoewel het aantal is gedaald van een piek van bijna 400.000 in 2012 tot een huidig cijfer van 250.000, steeg het aantal Britse expats die officieel in Spanje wonen aan het begin van elk jaar met 1% in 2018 en 3% in 2019.\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h5>Heeft u een woning te verkopen?
